Highlights
of budget:
-
The 2006
"actual" was 43% over the 2005 "actual," and the 2006 "actual" only represented
expenditures for 88% of the year (through 11/17/2006).
-
The 2006 budget
was 65 higher than the 2005 budget, and went up another 16% in 2007.
-
The 2007 Budget
is over twice the amount spent by the same directors in 2005.
-
Directors
Allen, Thiess, and Smith were the three biggest spenders in the 2006 Actual*,
and have the highest budgeted amounts for 2007.
Members have
formally asked these directors to reduce their spending from the 2007 budget of
$295,300 to $100,000. The directors have reduced their 2007 budget to $38,000
each or a total of $266,000 but one director told the former general manager
that "if we need more money, we'll go back and get it."
The average annual cost per director to the
company during the years 2000 - 2003 was $12,000. Mr. Allen's District 5 set a
new spending pattern in 2004 of $33,732, his first year on the HILCO, Inc.
board.
